CD Review

CD Title:
Tomorrow's Day

Yvonne Perea

Review By:

First and foremost I have to say that Yvonne Perea has an absolutely beautiful voice.  I was entranced from beginning and remain so. Most would probably say folk as the category, but Yvonne challenges restrictions. I found her mix of sultry blues, folk, and seemed to me some jazz, very satisfying! Perea's talent with the acoustic guitar is not be scoffed, as she demonstrates with unique abilities all hers. The combination of Perea's voice, strong music, and lyrics which reach us all, create a musical tour of force which lingers on. Haunting melodies and phrases dance in your head.  Her music makes you feel warm like the hug of a good friend.

The easy flow of "Tomorrow's Day" is enhanced by  deep thoughtful lyrics, and powered by such a dynamic voice make for a musical treat! Tracks 3. "Hang Up Your Umbrella" and 4- Title track -"Tomorrow's Day" are my favs. The cool backbeat and steady pace for me a first step to a feel great perspective.  From beginning to end my only problem was the CD ended to swiftly. Ah but that is a mark of success knowing how to leave their audience wanting more. Yvonne is a master in this department, and I anxiously await more....
