Review by Mountman/Joe             ‘Alex In Wonderland’ is a wonderful story that I fell in love with from the very beginning… I do have a confession to make. It’s a story set in the wonderful  ‘City That Care Forgot’, Pre-Katrina New Orleans. Having lived there, I felt that I was

reading about some of the people that I knew.

   Alex Sumner is 26, and the closeted gay son of one of the richest and most powerful men in the New Orleans Oil industry. And ‘Alex In Wonderland’ is his coming out story. For some of us, coming out can be a lot like ‘falling down the rabbit hole’, and Michel takes us on Alex’s journey through Wonderland.

   Alex’s journey takes him deep into the gay world of the French Quarter, a bus ride to key west (remember Alex comes from a very wealthy family), and on a trek to find the love of his life.

   There is another little problem Alex has, his impending wedding to the debutante Camilla Spivey. It’s an arranged affair. Arranged by Alex’s father, the imposing Randolph B. Sumner and another oil tycoon. The wedding is a merger of two oil families, and two oil companies. And Randolph is used to getting his own way in everything. Boy is he in for a surprise.

   The character, Jolie, Alex’s ‘Gay Mother’, is flawless. The capers Jolie gets into are hilarious. All in the name of helping a friend, Alex. Helping him out with his coming out, and all around getting his life together. Jolie is someone I would love to call ‘friend’.

   Michel has enough information about the local hot spots that I felt right at home. I would recommend ‘Alex In Wonderland’ to anyone that likes to read. It’s got intrigue, mystery, romance, sex, comedy, scandal…I can’t wait for the following installments into Alex’s life.
