Julia Kelly CD Review |
"Against The Ticking" Julia Kelly Review by: Len Smooth, very smooth. Not to be confused with complacent, "Against The Ticking" flows. The lyrics are in true Julia Kelly form, thoughtful and sensitive. Throughout most of the CD a strong sense of introspective questioning sets the ambiance. Julia's voice, lyrics, and slick guitar style bring it all together with flair and grace. My particular favorite is "Little One". Questioning and hopeful, this track for me is Julia Kelly at her best. Kelly's ability to write with such force as to demand association and understanding is well used on this track. Imagery and commonality |
are what bring the emotions out here. "Little One" drifts comfortably into your psyche and lingers.
All in all a credit to Julia Kelly and a treasure for her fans. Not her largest endeavor, they say dynamite comes in small packages. This is definitely the case with "Against The Ticking". A great addition to your collection be that as a Julia Kelly fan or of a general collector.
"Julia has just been honored by being accepted onto the Approved Artist Roster for the Millennium Stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C." From her website.
