Combined with her articulate voice is an interesting delivery style, which includes skat, sampling other famous song lyrics and improvising the lyrics (especially about the space heater in her dressing room). After the tenth composition she told us, "I'll play this one and then we can go have some pie. I'm fixated."
Her instrument playing was equally as impressive, playing both an acoustic guitar and a lap slide guitar. Through these instruments she took us through jazz, folk and even country tunes. It is always a pleasure to listen to an accomplished musician.
She is very
well traveled, telling us about her travels in
"I have
had a really, really nice time with you tonight."
So did I, it was an entertaining evening of wonderful music.
I had looked forward to meeting this fellow member of Outmusic. We
chatted at intermission and she is a very kewl person. I enjoyed all of the
songs that I heard, but I was especially fond of "More," "Only
One," "Afraid of Everything," and "Haunted House." Just
before her encore, she said "if you could all fit in my Honda Civic, I'd
take you with me!" She said
that she lives with three long haired cats in a little fishing town north of
