Origami
Review by: Len
Origami is the Japanese word for the art of paper folding. Literally meaning "to fold" (oru) and "paper" (kami). This art form has always amazed me. The designs offered by Trang Chung are no exception. Traditional shapes and designs combined with unique material source and bold colors make for a great visual experience. I have no idea how the designs were created, that would have made a nice addition to the exhibit. I do not mean reveal the entire process, just some basic origami information.
However, the lack of text does not lessen the overall beauty of Trang Chung's creations. The use of paper money from various countries creates a stirring display. The bold colors of some contrast with the muted grays and greens of others. The visual effects created in all are true origami beauty. Enjoy a few of the images below, but make a stop to Trang Chung's website for the entire show. A well worthwhile surf, and most enjoyable!
