"All Six Senses", the latest CD by performing songwriter Robin Renée, is a journey of spiritual awakening.  The journey is indeed the destination here, as each piece has its own deep resonance in the greater human experience.  Distilled to its essence, the album is much about the nature of love- from open-hearted seeking (“First Sight”), to romantic complexity and longing – (If I could taste you one more time and had to leave my world to chance/ I just might close the door and spin the wheel of fortune – “All Six Senses”), to celebration (“Thursday Morning Afterglow”), and ultimately to the profound urgency of merging with God/dess – (I was bathing in the light/ Felt the sea run down my spine/ I could feel another time/ I could wait here one more night/ But no more, no more/ Gotta be right now – “I’m Coming Down”). These themes, loosely-yet-cohesively interwoven, emerge through a passionate medium of edgy rock, singer/songwriter lyricism and pop sense, and the sonic impact of chant.

All Six Senses began to materialize in earnest in January 2002 when world-renowned producer Scott Mathews took a keen interest in the early demos that crossed his path (Scott Mathews has produced, written for, recorded with, or performed with artists as fabulous and diverse as George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Elvis Costello, Barbra Streisand, Semisonic, The Rubinoos, John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton, John Hiatt, Patti LaBelle, Bonnie Raitt and many more.).  Robin and Scott quickly realized that they were a good artistic match; the album was recorded during May 2002 in Scott’s own TikiTown Studios  in Mill Valley, CA.

New songs "First Sight," "Chant," and "My Bride" can be heard now on MP3:

Jon Gilbert Leavitt of MP3's "Radio Stonewall" says of "My Bride" -  "-a new gem from the new CD by one of the most innovative folk/rock/alternative artists around. Robin Renée's "My Bride" uses pronoun play in constructing a beautiful and poignant song- an anthem in its own right. Renée is an artist who never stops growing, and her fan base never stops being amazed by her new creations. (Menage à Music)- "

Robin Receives 2003 Honor Award!

Hello Beautiful People!

I just have to say I had a wonderful time last night at the Honor 2003 Awards.  It was really, nice to be recognized for doing activist work and to be a bi- and spiritual- voice out there in the mix.  I have a nice award from the NJ Lesbian/Gay Coalition-Personal Liberty Fund, and proclamations from U.S. Senator Jon Corzine and the NJ State Assembly.  I am truly honored to be in the company of the others who were awarded.  What a party!  I so rarely go out to anything formal so it was great fun.  I loved the dancing.

Thank you so much to all who nominated me and did behind-the-scenes work to make it all come together.  Thanks so much to all who came out to the event; it was great to see so many people.

And a little note to my friend James... next time don't let a non-sugar, non-caffeine eatin' person like me have so much chocolate!  LOL  I was wide awake at, like, 2:30am thinking "Now who can I call in Ireland?  They might just be getting up..."  LOL!

Blessings,
Robin Renée

*** The Honor Awards*** www.njlgc.org
Established in 1988 and first awarded in 1989, the Honor Award recognizes people who have worked for the betterment of the LGBTI community through a single significant effort or a sustained period of transforming work. The D. Bennett Mazur Award, established in 1992 and first awarded at Honor 1993, recognizes those individuals who, at extreme risk to themselves, have nevertheless made sustained and profound contributions to transforming our society. Since it began, with these awards, the Annual Achievement Awards Banquet has acknowledged the extraordinary volunteer work done by more than 125 local activists.

Honor 2003 Award Winners Announced The New Jersey Lesbian & Gay Coalition and The Personal Liberty Fund will
acknowledge six individuals who have distinguished themselves through their efforts to improve the quality of life for members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and intersexed community (LGBTI) in New Jersey, at Honor 2003, the groups' 15th annual fundraiser and achievement awards banquet to take place Saturday, October 18, 2003, at the Pines Manor in EDISON, N.J. Honor is a prestigious annual event that recognizes these individuals, who have spent many years working for causes they believe in. These individuals have been activists fighting for social justice to help others in the LGBTI community. The ceremony and banquet takes place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. In addition to the honor awards ceremony, the program will include appetizers, dinner, a cash bar, a silent auction, and dancing. More than 200 people are expected to attend, including
some politicians.

This year's recipients of the LGBTI Achievement Awards are David D'Amico of TOMS RIVER, Lillian Epstein of PARK RIDGE, Nancy Hillman of TRENTON, Sherri Rase of EDISON, and Robin Renee of ATCO. Donald Proffit of LAWRENCEVILLE will receive the D. Bennett Mazur Award.

Proceeds from this event will benefit The Personal Liberty Fund's educational programs, including reprinting of the well-received Resource Guide for Schools and Youth to help LGBTI or questioning students, and information on domestic partnerships. Last year's fund- raiser helped the Personal Liberty Fund produce and distribute the first edition of the Resource Guide for Schools and will help offset the costs of bringing Judy Shepard to New Jersey to speak, from her very personal vantage, about hate crimes against the LGBTI community.

My Bride- A New Bi/Trans/Same-Sex Marriage Theme Song
"My Bride," a new song by performing songwriter Robin Renée, is soon to be released on her upcoming CD, "All Six Senses."  A melodic and lyrically-surprising ballad, "My Bride" traces two vignettes of love where sex and gender are truly mutable.  The song, often requested during Robin's live performances, is as complex as it is sonically memorable, touching upon the possibilities of same-sex marriage, bisexuality, TG/TS/CD, and polyamory.   "All Six Senses" is slated for an August 27, 2002 release.

The album was recorded at TikiTown Studios in Mill Valley, CA with producer Scott Mathews.  The new recording follows "In Progress", Robin Renée's full-length CD debut (2000).  "In Progress" was applauded in much alternative press across the U.S. and the disc reached the Top 10 on the Outvoice! internet music charts.

"All Six Senses" began to materialize in earnest in January 2002 when world-renowned producer Scott Mathews took a keen interest in the early demos that crossed his path.  He has produced, written for, recorded with, or performed with artists as fabulous and diverse as George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Elvis Costello, Barbra Streisand, Semisonic, The Rubinoos, John Lee
Hooker, Eric Clapton, John Hiatt, Patti LaBelle, Bonnie Raitt and many more.  Scott Mathews owns and operates TikiTown Studios.

"My Bride" can be heard now on MP3:  www.mp3.com/robinrenee.  The CD also includes a sultry cover of Nick Lowe's "Cruel To Be Kind."
