Society GLBT Artists IMRU Wing Website Review |
IMRU Site Review By: Len Entertaining and exciting both describe what you will find on the IMRU website. The artwork, content, and music is fresh and bold. At first glance the site represents an "animated" view of the band. Complete with a snapshots section. what I realized after some enjoyable reading, was that the band is indeed animated. We are talking cartoon as in the image of the Archies or Gorillaz to name a few. I have always been fascinated by this approach, especially with the "Me Generation" having come along and then the Gen X'rs. So let me add refreshing to the long list of descriptions appropriate to the IMRU Site. |
You can meet the band and learn how they met, what they like, and even meet them individually for a deeper look. The characters are developed but not to the point of stagnation. Lots of room to grow. The band is also diverse, and seemingly proud of that. IMRU does not come across as cartoon, you realize that a little later on. The bio's seem real, the concepts actual. Pure entertainment is what you are getting.
The artwork of Joe Phillips is the visual ground point for the site. And what wonderful artwork it is. Next month we will be featuring a review of Joe's website. A real visual treat. The treats are shared well on the IMRU site. You will be visually stunned by the artwork and the amount of it present. From wallpapers to posters, and don't forget the snapshots. There is a fan club, FAQ's, shopping, downloads, and of course the band's music.
You can download the full version of "I Was Wrong" the CD title track. An upbeat, pop sound, not in any way close to what is conceived as the current "boy band" craze. Colorful and lively, the music matches the style and wit of this new addition to cartoon entertainment. There are two sample songs available as well. The site can keep you occupied for a while, but you won't notice cause you will be having fun!!! Are you ready to go???? IMRU?
